SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Authorities in Bristol, Virginia captured a man suspected of robbing a Sevierville pharmacy on Sunday, the Sevierville Police Dept. announced. Robert A. Payne was arrested on Tuesday and was charged with Aggravated Robbery. He also reportedly had an outstanding warrant in Bristol as well.
Police believe Payne walked into a Kroger store shortly after 6:30 p.m., holding a boxcutter, and handed a pharmacy technician a note demanding prescription pain medication. He received an undisclosed amount of pills and left on foot.
Detective Sergeant Doug Shanks said officials were able to identify Payne as their suspect because of security video and other evidence left at the scene.
