MEIGS COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - An argument between a mother and son in Meigs County nearly ended with her death.
The Tennesee Bureau of Investigation says Jeron Smith got into a fight with Karen Neal.
TBI says Smith attacked Neal with a hammer and nearly killed her.
Neal's husband came home, grabbed a gun, and shot Smith as he tried to get away.
Authorities arrested Smith and charged him with Attempted Murder.
Neal is in a hospital on life support.
