ROBBINS, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Deputies in Morgan County say they found a 78 year old man dead inside his home and are treating the investigation as a homicide.
Deputies say a welfare check lead them to the home of Harold Reed on White Oak Lane.
Louise Baird lives near Reed and says she's known him for 40 years.
"I knew him when my kids were little. I started talking to him on the CB. He had like CB jamboree's and he'd have CB folks from like up in Kentucky and everywhere down here," said Baird. "He was a real good man, he always stayed to himself he talked on the CB and was real popular on the CB."
Baird says he was an author and enjoyed reading his two books. She now hopes investigators find out who's responsible so her family will be safe.
"I just can't understand why anybody would want to bother anybody, he stayed to himself he didn't bother anybody."
TBI has scheduled an autopsy, so far there's not word on those results.
