TDOT to remove rocks from cliff on Chapman Highway

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- TDOT says crews will work Thursday to remove rocks from a cliff on Chapman Highway.

This comes after a rock the size of a basketball fell into the road on Friday and damaged five vehicles, while another rock was found Monday morning.

TDOT says engineers have suggested a detailed scaling operation with larger equipment to remove large rocks that have brought concern during inspection.

Crews have scheduled the temporary lane closures between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM on Thursday, weather permitting.
