The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has seized 50 snakes from LaFollette pastor Andrew Hamblin.
The agency also cited Hamblin for keeping the snakes illegally.
Hamblin is known for using the snakes during worship at Tabernacle Church of God.
Officers visited Hamblin’s home Thursday morning to ask about the snakes. The pastor then admitted to having them at his church and led them to where the snakes were being kept.
Hamblin was then issued a citation for Possession of Class 1 Wildlife, which includes species inherently dangerous to humans.
The snakes are now at the Knoxville Zoo where they will be held.
Hamblin will appear in court November 15.
