Knoxville, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Board of Education could approve a state salary change. Meaning thousands of dollars will never make their paychecks.
Under the proposed scale, teachers with a Bachelor's degree won't see a pay raise until the 6th year.
As opposed to the current scale educators get a raise at their three year mark. Teachers with advanced degrees could lose even more money.
"We've spent a lot of time and money getting our advanced degrees and it helps us become better teachers," said Sherry Morgan.
"I'm frustrated very frustrated alot of people are making decisions about education who haven't been in the classroom," said Laura Kildare.
The State Board of Education will vote on Friday.
