GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Greene County Sheriff's Department charged a 16 year old with attempted first-degree murder following a stabbing at South Greene High School.
The school was placed on lock down around 8:00 a.m. Tuesday.
Deputies say a 15 year-old boy was stabbed multiple times while sitting in the school cafeteria.
Parents rushed to the school to pick up their kids once they heard the school was on lockdown.
"You hope to send your kids to school and every thing will be ok," said concerned parent Sharon Pursley.
A 16-year-old boy is charged with one count of attempted first-degree murder and will be held in custody until his first court appearance on Friday September 27, 2013 at 10:30 am.
