The Tennessee Valley Fair offered $1.00 tickets for the first 94 minutes after the gates opened in honor of the 94th anniversary of the fair, and hundreds took advantage of the discount.
Sarah Thompson, the Director of Public Relations says she is hoping for long lines and a sell-out crowd Friday night for the Loverboy concert.
She expects the sunny weather will help push big numbers through the gates for opening weekend. Last year, the fair had a total of 142,000 visitors. This year, Thompson is hoping to hit 150,000.
"Weather is really the determining factor for how well the fair does," Thompson said.
The fair is open from 10:00am to midnight on Saturday, and then noon to midnight on Sunday. Gates open at various times throughout the following week.
