MARYVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- The Hearing and Speech Foundation in Maryville has opened in a new 7,200 sq. foot building. The group says the new building will complete the next step of an aggressive growth and expansion plan.
The foundation's Executive Director, Amanda Womac, says the group will now be equipped to showcase the Verbotonal Method of aural rehabilitation through the new auditory training and therapy programs.
"One in ten individuals in the United States has some sort of hearing loss so we will be effecting our community, our neighbors, our friends and our families," said Womac. "Our center will be focused on auditor training for kids and adults"
Womac says they will work with the listening skills of children to help develop a normal pathway with their piers. She says they can help adults who have early hearing loss as well.
The new state-of-the-art facility is located on E. Broadway Avenue in Maryville.
