GALLATIN, Tenn. (AP/WVLT) -- Jurors in the trial of a woman accused of smothering her newborn twins watched a video on Wednesday of Lindsey Lowe's interview with a police detective.
In the video, a sobbing Lowe says she cheated on her fiance and then hid the resulting pregnancy from everyone.
On Sept. 12, 2011, the 26-year-old gave birth at the Hendersonville home she shared with her parents and sister.
Lowe says she gave birth over the toilet and never looked at the babies. She did not even know whether they were boys or girls.
Prodded by the detective to explain how they died, Lowe says she covered their mouths until they stopped crying.
Lowe put them in a laundry basket where her parents discovered them two days later.
She is charged with murder.
