PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Pigeon Forge leaders raised thousands of dollars playing golf and have now donated that money to the Boys & Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains.
Thursday, the Pigeon Forge Hospitality Association donated $7,500 dollars to the club. The director says the money will be used to help offset expenses to provide a safe place for children to come after school.
The money was raised during the associations annual golf tournament.
"That actual donation came strictly from one event that we do in our golf tournament and that's our largest fundraiser of the year," said Phil Campbell, President of PFHA. "The Boys and Girls Club teamed with us to help put on that event and we're glad to give a portion of that back to them."
The golf tournament was held in August and this was the 15th year for the tournament.
