Thousands without power in Knoxville after small fire

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- Almost 7,000 people were without power Saturday night.

Knoxville Utilities Board tells Local 8 News a small fire ignited at their substation near Ball Camp Pike.

KFD was able to put the fire our with extinguishers however it tripped the station's protective equipment, shutting off power.

Crews were able to restore power a few hours later.
