MONROVIA, Calif. (WVLT) -- Starting Friday, Knoxville shoppers will have another choice when buying their groceries. At 8:00 a.m., Mayor Madeline Rogero will join company officials for the ceremonial lei cutting.
The lei cutting highlights the "Hawaiian-inspired" decorations customers will discover when they enter the store. They'll also find several hand-painted murals dedicated to the area, including ones that feature a view of downtown Knoxville, the riverfront on “Boomsday”, Cade’s Cove, the Pigeon River, Neyland Stadium, and the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.
The opening celebration continues throughout the day with live music by the Bearden Marching Band, food demonstrations, and rffles for free groceries.
Trader Joe's will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily.
