KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- TDOT is working several construction projects this weekend in Knoxville.
Drivers should watch for lane closures and rolling roadblocks on I-40 East and West between Cherry Street (Exit 390) and Rutledge Pike (Exit 392) as crews continue repaving the road and bridge work. TDOT recommends drivers use I-640 as a detour.
Crews will have mobile lane closures between 8 PM Saturday and 6 AM Sunday on I-40 E between Alcoa Highway (Exit 386B) and Henley Street (Exit 388) to remove overhead detour signs.
Between 8 PM Saturday and 6 AM Sunday, crews will be present on I-275 between Baxter Avenue and the I-40 interchange. Overhead detour signs will also be removed during that time.
At 8:30 PM Monday, watch for temporary lane closures on I-40 West between Cherry Street (Exit 390) and Hall of Fame Drive (Exit 389) as crews start to remove an overhead sign structure. Work will be completed around 6 AM Tuesday. Drivers are urged to use I-640 as an alternate.
