KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)--Firefighters are battling two Thanksgiving Day brush fires.
The first one is in East Knox County between Millertown Pike and Babelay Road. At least 7 different agencies are battling the blaze including forestry crews. It's producing a cloud of smoke that can be seen from I-40. As of 4pm, Rural Metro says the fire has consumed 100 acres. No injuries have been reported. No word on the cause.
Firefighters are calling it a forest fire now because it is so large. Rural Metro says there are lots of trees and brush in the area. They are trying to keep the fire from going over the ridge.
Another brush fire is burning at 1152 Iris Way in Cosby. Firefighters are on the scene. No injuries reported there either. No word on the cause of that fire.
