KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT)- Two men are recovering after a box truck and a Norfolk Southern train collided Saturday afternoon.
The wreck happened around one on Boyd Station Road in West Knox County.
Investigators say 22-year-old Tony Ogle Jr. of Rockwood, was heading north on Willow Creek Road in the box truck, and then crossed the train tracks and stopped.
The rear of the truck was still on the tracks, and Ogle attempted to get the train to stop. But the train still struck the truck.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
Ogle's passenger, 25-year-old Thomas Fleeman of Knoxville, was also hurt. Both were taken to the hospital, but are expected to recover from their injuries.
Ogle was cited for failure to obey signal of train approach.
