Two killed when truck crashes into home, catches fire

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Two people were killed morning when their truck crashed into the living room in a northwest Knoxville home early Wednesday. Both of the people who lived there were sleeping in bedroom at the other end of the house at the time.

According to the Knoxville Fire Dept., both of the victims were found dead in the cab of the 70's step-side pick-up when firefighters arrived on the scene 2110 Sanderson Rd., around 1:30 a.m. They have not been identified.

Firefighters believe the gas tank on the truck ruptured causing the vehicle and the home to catch fire.

A residential KUB gas meter near the side of the home was disconnected at the street so firefighters could remove the victims and the truck.

Investigators are now working to determine what caused the crash.
