UT Garden's Bloom Days features workshops, music

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- In the mood to beautify your home? The University of Tennessee can help.

It's Garden's Bloom Days are coming with specialty plant sales, garden workshops, children's activities and live music. You can also tour the gardens, with their 4,000 annuals, perennials, herbs, tropical plants, trees, shrubs, vegetables and ornamental grasses.

New this year is the HGTV Home Showcase Garden featuring the HGTV Home Plant Collection. Also new is a bonsai show hosted by the Knoxville Bonsai Society, where participants can see prize-winning bonsai and talk with expert bonsai growers.

Blooms Days is Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $6 at the gate with children under 12 admitted free. All proceeds benefit the UT Gardens.
