KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The University of Tennessee's undergraduate and master's level accounting programs ranked among the best in the nation, according to the latest Public Accounting Report.
Both College of Business Administration programs eked into the Top 25 among programs with comparable faculty sizes, both ranking 24th.
“Our graduates recently also made a name for themselves by ranking among the top in the nation for passing all parts of the 2012 Certified Public Accountant examination,” said Bruce Behn, Deloitte LLP Professor and head of the college’s Department of Accounting and Information Management.
In those exams, UT programs ranked 16th out of 255 large accounting programs. By coming in 27th overall, the university still placed in the top 5 percent.
University officials described the Public Accounting Report as the industry's benchmark publication. It annually ranks accounting programs around the world.
