KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- Fans for the University of Tennessee Football team are passionate about their team and for many it's a passion that rooted deep into family history.
For many fans, they have been born and raised in Tennessee, and the university is a source of pride for them and their friends.
"All the past success gets everybody excited hoping there's going to be more of it. and all the locals have just got a taste of it and want more," said Ben Murphy a UT fan and student.
"That's all I've grown up knowing, is Rocky Top. And if we don't start rocking other teams and topping them on the score board people are going to be getting angry and upset," said UT student Louise Trapnell.
Fans say a winning program leads to pride for the school, pride for the team and pride for the university. They say a win gives them bragging rights and a more sense of price because they can say, "my team's a winner."
