NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A senior at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is among 32 U.S. men and women who have been named Rhodes Scholars and will enter Oxford University next October.
The Rhodes Trust says Lindsay E. Lee of Oak Ridge was one of the winners selected from 857 applicants endorsed by 327 different colleges and universities.
The scholarships, announced early Sunday, provide all expenses for two or three years of study at the prestigious university in England.
According to the Rhodes Trust, Lee majors in mathematics and Spanish at the University of Tennessee. She has done research at the National Institute of Mathematical and Biological Synthesis, at Vanderbilt Medical Center and at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
