KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The University of Tennessee student section will have a new name this fall.
Coach Butch Jones encouraged students to name the student section this year. The University of Tennessee Student Government Association opened a naming contest earlier this year. Students submitted hundreds of suggestions and the university says these were the final tip five choices: General's Quarters - Smokey's Howl - Vol Army - Rocky Top Rowdies and Big Orange Crew.
Current UT students with a valid NetID can participate in voting until August 24. The new name will be unveiled at the home football opener versus Utah State.
