MAYNARDVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- An inmate at the Union Co. Jail who was found unresponsive in his cell on Sunday morning has died.
Kyle Lynn Rose had just finished eating breakfast when other inmates told corrections staff, who were still delivering meals, that he wasn't responding, according to Union Co. Sheriff's Office Sgt. Mike Butcher.
The 29 year-old was rushed immediately to Tennova North Hospital. where he died three days later, Butcher said. his body was taken to UT pathology for an autopsy.
The cause of death is still unknown. Union Co. Sheriff Earl Loy, Jr., asked the TBI to investigate the circumstances surrounding Rose's death.
Rose had been housed at the Union Co. Jail since May on charges of Theft over $1,000. He was transferred there from the Knox Co. Detention Center.
