UPDATE: TWRA identifies man pulled from Fort Loudon Lake

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Investigators are still investigating the death of a 39 year-old Knoxville man found face down in Fort Loudon Lake on Tuesday. Jacob Thompson was pulled from the water off Carl Cowen Park.

TWRA said Thompson was launching a personal watercraft when something happened that caused him to fall into the lake. Witnesses reported hearing a loud pop just before spotting Thompson.

Thompson was taken to U.T. Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Authorities do not believe he was electrocuted and have ordered an autopsy to figure out why he died.
