SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The leader of the Mountain Hope Good Shepherd Medical Clinic was honored for her work to help the community Tuesday by the Rotary Club.
Mary Vance, Executive Director, was given the Dr. Brody Award for humanitarian work in the medical field. Vance was selected out of 9 nominees. The Rotary Club of Sevierville Noonday presented the honor.
"Well I've always had a passion and always had. I was 10 years old when I wrote to the Peace Corps. So it's always been a driving force for me to want to help others," said Vance.
The rotary also handed out scholarships for 2 Seniors from Sevier County High School. Tyler Hounshell and Christopher Justice were given $1,000 scholarships. The 2 were chosen from essays written.
