NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Representatives from the Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs will be in Newport to help veterans and their families with questions about benefits and entitlements.
Veterans Affairs is working with Walters State Community College and Knoxville Homeless Veterans Reintegration Project to put on the Tuesday event, which is open to veterans in Hamblen, Cocke and Jefferson Counties.
In addition to answering benefits questions, Veterans Affairs representatives will help veterans to initiate disability claims. Veterans should bring copies of their DD-214s to assist with filing claims.
The event takes place at the Wellington Place Assisted Living Center from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
