Community helping kids after their mother was killed in a drive-by shooting

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- Overcoming Believers Church, where Uniqua Brown was a member is asking for your help. They are hosting a diaper drive on Tuesday. They hope to supply Uniqua's mother with enough diapers to last her for an entire year.

If you're interested in helping. You can drop off diapers at 2500 E. Fifth Ave, Knoxville, TN 37914.

"She was a loving mother, loving sister, loving daughter, granddaughter," her sister Kadiza Brown said.

She was a great loving mother, great friend, outspoken young lady, never afraid to speak her mind" said Sky Smith.

Brown was killed in a drive-by shooting at her Nolan Avenue home in broad daylight Friday.

Police arrested Lavonte Simmons and Shawn O'Neill in connection to her death. They both face first-degree murder.

Brown's family told Local 8 News they are seeking answers, and hope to put a stop to the violence in the community.

For now, they hope to heal and make sure her four children know just how great their mother was.

"We have to be there for them and let them know this is your mama, she loved you all," Kadiza Brown said.
