KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Visit Knoxville is making changes to this year’s Boomsday Festival.
Visit Knoxville representatives have confirmed that this year’s event will require ticketed admission to premium viewing areas with special entertainment.
"Yes, tickets will be required to this year’s event, but the price will be affordable for this family friendly event," Visit Knoxville wrote in a statement to WVLT.
The agency says they aren't releasing details yet, but more changes are in store this year.
Visit Knoxville representatives said some of those changes are being made in response to requests from attendees, while others are planned initiatives to expand the show's offerings.
Boomday is scheduled for August 31, 2014.
