WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WVLT) -- A man was arrested around 9:45 a.m. Saturday at a home on Imperial Hollow Road in the Rockholds community on several charges.
The Whitley County Sheriff's Office says they were called because a woman had told them 51-year-old Sonny Smith had hit her in the face with his head.
While investigating, deputies say they spotted a marijuana plant growing in a container next to the home. They also found two more marijuana plants growing in the ground.
When they went inside the building, they say they found cut weed and drug paraphernalia associated with marijuana use.
They say Smith said the plants were his and that they were for personal use.
In addition to fourth-degree assault, Smith was charged with cultivating marijuana less than five plants, a misdemeanor, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
