Missing Knox Co. teen found

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Just a day before his 15th birthday, a missing Knox Co. teen was found in Sevierville, the sheriff's office announced late Wednesday morning. Officers found Luke Binder at the Cheesecake Cafe on Highway 66.

After a quick detour to the Sevierville Police Dept., Binder will be taken back home. The Sheriff's Office pointed out Binder has no history of running away and has not been in the juvenile system.

His father, Joseph Binder, had said he last saw his son around 11:00 p.m. on June 11 at their home on Colchester Ridge Road. He told the sheriff's office his son left on foot and took his electric guitar with him.

His father also said Joseph told his friends he was going to run away and work on a farm somewhere. His friends think he followed the railroad tracks through Knox Co. and may have "hopped a train."
