NEWPORT, Tenn. (WVLT) A Cocke County woman is in jail after police say she ran over a man with a van.

It started as a day long feud between Rebecca Strong and Earl Victor Williams. Strong asked Williams for money for food. When Williams only gave her five dollars, she decided to use her van against him.

Neighbors say she ran over Williams. He sustained compound fractures and a head injury.

Corey Morgan, who's wife is the victim's niece, saw the whole thing. He says, "Im shocked that someone would actually hit somebody with a van."

The Cocke County Sheriff's responded to the scene.

Williams is at an area hospital. Strong turned herself in and is in the Cocke County Jail.
