GRAINGER COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Authorities say Deidre Thacker and her 10-year-old grandson, Jaden Thacker, were found shot to death Saturday morning in the 8000 block of Lakeshore Drive in Rutledge.
Chief Deputy Charles Biddle told Local 8 News that someone who lives in the area found the bodies in the grass near an abandoned home. Thacker's green Taurus was found in the driveway.
Two neighbors reported hearing gunshots sometime Friday night.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says evidence found in the vehicle, as well as evidence at the scene, lead them to believe it was a murder-suicide.
The bodies have been taken to the Knox County Medical Examiner's Office for autopsies.
Thacker is from Sharps Chapel in Union County.
