Woman escapes house fire unharmed

At around 8:40 Saturday morning, the Knoxville Fire Department responded to the 900 block of Sapphire Road for report of a residential fire.

When firefighting crews arrived, they found the only occupant had already exited the building.

The home owner stated she had been in the kitchen cooking when she heard a popping sound coming from her bedroom. Fire officials are concentrating their investigation in the bedroom to find the cause.

No injuries were reported, and the American Red Cross is assisting the woman.
