KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Beverly and Ronnie Lane welcomed the new year quietly, but it didn't last long.

"I heard a great big explosion and I thought, 'That's not fireworks.' I looked up at my security camera again and I kept seeing blue flashes. I came running out the front door because my computer went off, the TV went off and I thought, 'Okay.' And I looked over there and I all I saw was flames," said Beverly Lane, who lives across from Quality Bakery on Burnside Street.

Arson investigators said Stacey Ann Michelle Foringer and a teenager blew up a Quality Bakery truck. The blast caught two other trucks and the bakery on fire, causing more than $35,000 of damage.

"They were taking like M80s - firecrackers - and then putting them in cans. I don't know what type of cans they were because they were exploded. But they were taking those devices - which is basically like a small bomb," said DJ Corcoran, with the Knoxville Fire Department.

According to the warrant, they "did it for fun."

For the Lanes, there's nothing funny about it:

"It was horrifying - I said, 'Oh my God, my house is going to catch on fire,"' said Beverly Lane.

The fire is just the latest thing to make them feel unsafe.

"When I was a kid, you left your door unlocked and you didn't have anything to worry about. Now you can't put enough locks on your doors. We've been lucky - no one's bothered us, but I've heard a lot of things," said Ronnie Lane.

And they're keeping an eye out: the Lanes have security cameras posted all around their home.

Foringer and the teen face arson and prohibited weapon charges.

This isn't Foringer's first run-in with the law. She's been convicted of theft and criminal impersonation in the past.
