PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Crews are out at the site of the former Grand Hotel Convention Center working on the demolition, while plans are moving forward for a revitalization of the area.

The Grand Resort Hotel & Convention Center was ranked the filthiest hotel in America and now it's empty.

New owners are working to renovate the hotel and have big plans for the former convention center site, which has been demolished. City planers are meeting with them to lay out the groundwork for those plans and make sure they are up to city code.

The city planning commission heard from hotel owners Tuesday afternoon on their plans.
