KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The tree trimmer pulled from a South Knoxville tree has died.
The worker's name has not been released.
Coworkers told Local 8 News the man became trapped after "a freak accident."
They declined to say what company they were working with and would not identify the man trapped in the tree except to say he was a subcontractor working with them for the day.
The man was left hanging from a harness in the tree until first response crews could call in special crews to access his position.
