KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - On the minds of many around the holidays are the brave men and women who have served our country.
This afternoon, the Patriot Guard Riders helped to lead a ceremony at the East Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery to remember the fallen heroes. Many laid wreaths at hundreds of grave sites.
There are also seven ceremonial wreaths for each branch of the military.
For Ryan McGrew, this is his first Christmas without his grandfather, Korean War veteran Jeff Davis.
"It's tough. For me, to think about all the people that have served and gave their lives for this country, we're forever indebted to those people," said McGrew.
Wreaths Across America is expected to place 400,000 wreaths across the country.
