Cleaning up your A.C.T.s; higher scores are key to scholarships

Posted: 08/19/2009 - All Tennessee high school juniors take the A.C.T., the American College Test that's supposed to predict how ready they are for college-level work. The Southern Regional Education Board reports scores have dropped a tenth of a point compared to last year, in all four test segments: English, Reading, Math and Science. Many of those students won't go on to college, by choice. But a higher A.C.T. score not only can guarantee the college of your choice-- it'll buy lots of help paying for it.

Posted: 08/19/2009 - The man recognized as the father of modern television news and the creator of "60 Minutes" has died. Don Hewitt was executive producer of CBS News, the title he took when he stepped down from "60 Minutes" in 2004. Hewitt was 86-years-old.
