Judge rules on motions ahead of first Christian-Newsom murder trial

Updated: 08/18/2009 - Knox County Criminal Court Judge Richard Baumgartner ruled on several motions ahead of the first murder trial in the Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom killings that happened in January 2007. Among the motions considered are request to delay Letalvis Cobbins' trial and exclude autopsy photos from evidence in his case, as well as a motion by George Thomas' attorney to move his trial outside of Knox County.

Job losses slow to 247,000; jobless rate dips
