KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- It might only be spring but plans for the 24th Boomsday have already been in the works. There will be a few changes this year due to the construction on the Henley Street Bridge. The fireworks will launch from a Railroad bridge just down the river in order to keep the traditional "waterfall effect" alive.
Kim Bumpas, Senior VP of Sales and Marketing told us "We have great partnerships with the police, the fire department, the TWRA and Norfolk Southern. They have allowed us to utilize the Railroad bridge for our firework show."
This year there will be a music festival called "Boom in the Park" where country music star Chuck Wicks will perform. Along with legends of classic rock including Lou Gramm of Foreigner, John Elefante of Kansas, Mickey Thomas of Starship and Bobby Kimball of Toto. Tickets go on sale Friday April 1st at 10:00 a.m. EST. Visit www.BoomInThePark.com or call 1-800-514-3849.
