Bridge dedicated to fallen veteran

HARLAN, Ky. (AP) - - A bridge in eastern Kentucky has been dedicated to a Korean War veteran who died in battle.

Officials gathered in Harlan County to dedicate the bridge to Cpl. Raymond L. Hatfield, who died in a 1953 battle.

Former Benham Mayor John Dodd said Hatfield received the Distinguished Service Cross for actions he took during the battle that saved the lives of many others.

Raymond L. Hatfield the second, who was named after his uncle, said the family was "humbled" by the honor.
