KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- GO! Contemporary Dance Works presents "The Barbarosa" at the Bijou Theatre this weekend.
"It's a performance which blends contemporary ballet, moderns and aerial dance with cultural and historical dance forms." explains Lisa Hall McKee, the artistic director of the show.
"The Barbarosa" is a story about a female pirate, Anne Bonny, who was raised in a wealthy home and grew up to be a ruthless pirate. Lisa tells us "Sword fights and fencing will also be featured in telling Anne’s story of life on the high seas in the 1700’s."
It's perfect for the whole family to enjoy especially those tough to please young boys!
Performances are Saturday, February 12th 8:00PM and Sunday, February 13th 3:00PM at the Bijou Theatre. Advance tickets available online at www.gocontemporarydance.com or call 865-539-2475. Tickets $21.50 adult, $16.50 senior/student. $26.50/$21.50 at the door.
