It's the longest running Broadway musical and it's been seen throughout the world. But if you've never seen the Phantom of the Opera-- you don't know what you're missing out on but you'll have the chance this weekend. Volunteer TV's Whitney Kent takes us to Central High School.

"It's the haunting love story of the phantom who is disfigured and his love for Christine and it's really a love triangle. There's the other love interest of Christine is Raoul who is a dashing young man." says Becky Thomas, Central High School's Choral Director

All the glitz and glamor of a Broadway show, and Central High is the first school in Tennessee to take on the world famous Phantom of the Opera.

Becky tells us, "It was just released in late summer for the first time for high schools and colleges to perform. Prior to that it was only licensed for the Broadway cast, the London cast, the big city cast and the touring cast."

"It's not a water downed version it's the exact version that is done on Broadway and London." says Becky.

Hard work from students, parents and volunteers helped Central High School put this entire production together.

"Students spent their entire spring break- 8-10 hours a day plus the weekends working. Helping to build sets, painting, designing just everything...There are so many aspects i can't even begin to describe."

You can catch Central High School's performance this Friday and Saturday, at 7 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
