ATHENS, Tenn. (AP) -- An Athens man has been charged with attempted second-degree murder after police said he tried to set an officer on fire.
According to The Daily Post-Athenian, Ronald Fisher sprayed officer Lee Reagan with lighter fluid when police responded to a disturbance call Tuesday at Fisher's apartment.
Reagan was not badly burned and has returned to work.
A police report said Reagan and a fellow officer scuffled with Fisher and were able to get a lighter and fluid away from him.
Fisher also was charged with resisting arrest.
