ROANE COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT)- Multiple fire crews in Roane County continue to battle a church fire, near downtown Kingston.
Kingston United Methodist Church's pastor tells us he was taking a breaking from mowing near the building, when he noticed something wrong just. That was around 7 this evening.
After calling 911 and checking to see if anyone was inside, Pastor John Anderson tells us he saw lots of thick smoke in the sanctuary.
He believe the sanctuary, which was built in the 70's, and the choir loft suffered a lot of damage.
No one was in the church at the time, and there are no reports of injuries.
The congregation is expected to hold Sunday service outside of the building, tomorrow morning.
