OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- An early morning fire left nine people without their homes at the Manhattan Apartments in Oak Ridge Wednesday.
The Oak Ridge Fire Dept. said in a release the third floor apartment fire was caused by cooking.
The damage left nine people from six families without a place to live, and the American Red Cross says it will provide lodging and food to them for the next three days.
The Oak Ridge Fire Dept. arrived on the scene at the Manhattan Apartments on Purdue Ave. around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday and found the third story apartment engulfed in flames.
There are no reported injuries, and the scene was clear by 4:30 a.m.
