The damage left nine people from six families without a place to live, and the American Red Cross says it will provide lodging and food to them for the next three days.

The Oak Ridge Fire Dept. arrived on the scene at the Manhattan Apartments on Purdue Ave. around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday and found the third story apartment engulfed in flames.

There are no reported injuries, and the scene was clear by 4:30 a.m.
