NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Forty workers from Tennessee electric cooperatives have headed to Virginia to help restore power there to storm-stricken areas.
The 40 are from six cooperatives in Mountain City, Madisonville, South Pittsburg, New Tazewell, New Market and Oneida. Volunteer lineworkers and equipment are involved.
The Tennessee Electric Cooperative Association said Monday that the effort is done through mutual aid agreements between electric cooperatives.
