KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A proud program has suffered lately.

Halls has won just one game over the last two seasons. A new guy on the Red Devil campus will try to turn things around.

J.D. Overton is the program's interim head coach. Overton will rely on a strong senior class to turn things around.

"There's excellent senior leadership. There's 20 plus seniors on the football team," Overton said.

"We're gonna ask those guys to turn this thing around. This is their team and they know that. The kids work ethic is great. They work as hard as any group of kids I've ever seen. They want to improve, just as much, or more than anyone around."

Halls opens up the season August 24 at Sevier County.
