(LMS & NASCAR) -- The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway will kick off the 2009 season when it opens its gates for the fourth annual Circle K Colossal 100 March 27-28. This year The Dirt Track will feature a schedule that includes eight action-packed nights of racing highlighted by World of Outlaws sprint cars and late models.
More than 20 applicants are already entered for the Circle K Colossal 100, a two-day event that features a $50,000-to-win late model series race. Early entries include last year's World of Outlaws Late Model Series Champion Darrell Lanigan, dirt-racing legend Scott Bloomquist, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kenny Schrader and the 2008 Colossal 100 winner Steve Francis.
To close out the season, the World of Outlaws sprint cars and late models will come together at The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway for the third year to crown their series champions. The Vault World of Outlaws World Finals three-day event will be held Nov. 5-7.
Other 2009 events include The Rite Aid Outlaw Showdown, featuring World of Outlaws sprint cars, The World of Outlaws Showdown, featuring the late model series, and the Circle K Monster Truck Bash, the region's only outdoor Monster Truck event.
