Bayne will miss All-star Race

CONCORD, N.C. (AP) -- Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne will miss both the All-Star race this weekend, and the Nationwide Series race in Iowa.

Roush Fenway Racing president Steve Newmark says the team wants Bayne to be in "prime condition" before he races again. Because Bayne has missed almost a month, Newmark says the driver has not been able to do daily training activities.

Bayne was scheduled to drive in Saturday night's All-Star race for the Wood Brothers. The team will not enter the car in the $1 million race.

RFR will not use a replacement driver for Bayne in Sunday's race at Iowa.

Bayne spent a week at the Mayo Clinic undergoing treatment for what doctors have called an inflammatory condition.
